Volunteering at Teboho Trust. The first time I came across Teboho Trust online, I didn't think much of it. I was just registering to spend my boredom time as I was recommended by Harambee. I just graduated and so I thought to my self, I have got to be busy with something until I find employment. However I realized that in my volunteering time I was mostly going to deal with children which I love the most. That is when my love and passion arose and it was important for me to appreciate the time I am given by this organisation to volunteer. My first attendance at Madibane Comprehensive School, it was Saturday the 3rd of December 2016, I had planned with all my heart to attend since I had missed the previous Saturday appointment. So I told myself I am going there anyway and use my time worthy by helping at the organization. As I entered the the gate I met them in separate groups and I kindly greeted them all, wow they were so friendly and warm I could feel that it was exactly the place and kind of people I will enjoy spending time with. There was this particular little girl who volunteered to take me to the office as I didn't know it, she was adorable and all smiles telling me about how their day was already and all the activities they did, were doing that they would be doing on their Christmas party. I spent more or less five minutes with this little girl briefing me about everything I was curious to know and she stole my heart. As I arrived to the office I met Ms Lydia, who was busy washing the decoration cloth and so I greeted her and she was just like the children, warm and welcoming with a smile. She asked for my name and who was I volunteering with and I told her with my hands and heart, with a smile on her face. She also briefed me about everything I needed to know and for the coming Christmas party event on the 10th, we both shared a smile and little laughter as I departed home. It has always been my dream to give back to the community, to share my love with those in need and I am truly grateful to God for this period a spent at Teboho Trust as well as my hands and heart for this opportunity to grow my skills and learn more.
