Rosebank College Volunteer Day Awareness As the unemployment rate increases every year and more and more youth are left without the necessary skills or knowledge to apply or build some kind of skills needed for the specific jobs they required. Although the unemployment rate is high, more institutions and organisation are creating opportunities for youth to develop skills and knowledge through volunteering. Rosebank College Braamfontein Campus held a volunteer day to assist many of their students to gain knowledge and the importance of volunteering. Organisation which placed a round: Many organisations such as SPCA, Colgate, CANSA and My hands and heart, all gather to show, the students of Rosebank College different ways to build their knowledge and skills and what the organisations could offer them. My hands and heart a small social platform to assist the youth to connect to different organisations across South Africa. The organisation has developed many young people within the country through volunteering and giving out their time to gain knowledge and skills needed within different organisation. Roles Volunteering has played: Volunteering has become large method in making sure that the youth are job readiness, which may help many unemployed, to become employed. Many of these organisations, like my hands and heart, allows many of our employed and unemployed youth to gain access to necessary skills to build their careers and opportunities to becoming entrepreneurs to building the economy. Rosebank College Volunteer show many of the students the importance of volunteering and that institutions should promote that importance of volunteering within their institution, to allow more students to build skills and knowledge within the different career paths they choose to follow.
